When to drink: 2013 to 2040
Mid ruby with quite a bit of development. Warm and scented. But still reserved and without obvious distinguishing marks. Contained and far from super sweet or luscious. Refined with a dry finish. Easy to overlook as it’s on the timid side. Good balance veering towards dryness on the finish.
Jancis Robinson Subtle, layered and restrained in style. This wine is never flashy or powerful but there is always wonderful silky tannins and a refined character to the flavors. Not a classic 2000 with its roundness and ripeness – this is leaner and more reserved. Still shows great ageing potential – should age a decade or two easily.
